Lucky 13 Little Mo's favourite and only number

Sniff Sniff is Spring here yet? Time to come out of hibernation!

The Brotherhood have dragged me out of my warm pit (aka cave) and bloody retirement to let you know of the forthcoming Mohawks Brotherhood Bike Show in June of this year! Last years event was a corker and this year it will be bigger and better. The event starts on Saturday June the 7th but if you are coming a long way no-one would object to seeing you on Friday! The site is at Gore Cross Bridport which is right on the Northern edge of town, just type this in to Google maps

Gore Cross Way
Bridport, Dorset DT6

t DT6
Look for Watford lane, the site is in the field to the North. The bash will be bigger and better (second time you said that) with Big Marquees, Decent Toilets, Stalls, Trade Stands, Custom Show, Tattooist's, Hog Roast, Body Piercing, Good Camping area, and Bars! In fact it's that good I may well ease my self out of the 8legs spider cave a pop up for a mooch around! £5.00 entrance fee includes camping and another £2.00 gets your scoot in the Bike Show where you can win a proverbial Alladin's Cave of Goodies.

Saturday 7th. of June 2008 - Be there or be elsewhere and miss a good do!5

Now where's my..................zzzzzz (too late more kip till summer)

Bye for now Andy8legs!

Welcome to the page dedicated to all the things we could not find room for elsewhere in the site. House numbers go from 12 to 12a., lifts mysteriously rise from 12 to 14 ignoring the inevitable. Here we embrace the number thirteen and all of it's supposed mysterious powers, good luck vs. bad luck.

Voodoo or Hoodoo its only a bloody number or is it?

Time for a reflective note from the Editor.

This page over the years has proved to be very popular but, as with everything it is easy to become complacent. This is the first major change to this page in almost three years, could have been worse (could have been thirteen years)......phew! somewhere in that space of time members have come and gone, some prospects made it and some did not. We have all grown wiser and older (except for me of course).

All in all one thing has remained constant, our respect and affection for our fellow members, our firm belief that in continuing to strive for the club we will all put something positive back in to our club and also the biking fraternity in general. I for one am proud to be part of the Mohawks Brotherhood and I feel sure that other readers from other clubs are equally proud of their heritage. So wherever in the world you are - stick with your club ( unless you fancy joining us) and your ideals......co's its all we have that makes us different.

As for the contents of the rest of this page.... well if I were you I'd settle down for a few minutes, have a read and if you feel so disposed then send us your own comments, pictures or points of view.

Coincidence, timelines & pause for thought!

As our readers may be aware the club was originally formed here in Dorset.

As most clubs start, it was formed by a small group of bikers in a pub (sound familiar?). The name logo/emblem patch and colours were decided on and all the correct protocols were observed with other clubs in the area and the club was born.

The Mohawks are of course a tribe of native North American Indian's (which we were blissfully un-aware of at the time) and have strong connections with a place called Bridport Island on a river bordering Candada and the U.S. now some of you may have spotted the link.....The Mohawks Brotherhood was formed in a pub in Dorset, Bridport to be exact......weird or what.!!!!!

If anyone knows anything about Bridport Island I would be mighty interested.

Little Mo appears to sport an earring or does he? (apart from the fact it's a bit tricky for a skull to have ears).

The 13th. letter of the alphabet is M next to this is the O or earring, MO  hence  Little MO - fact, fiction or coincidence?

What's with the number thirteen?

We have been brought up to believe the number thirteen is an "unlucky" number, but it is in fact a number of great power and significance:

Jesus and the Twelve Apostles =13
Moses and the Twelve Tribes =13
Jason and the Twelve Argonauts =13
The Original American Colonies =13

If you examine the back of an American dollar bill, you will see the

number thirteen all over the place. For example:

1) Thirteen arrows that the "Eagle" is holding in its left talon
2) Thirteen leaves of the "olive branch" in the other talon
3) Thirteen olives in the olive branch
4) Thirteen stars above the "Eagles" head
5) Thirteen "tiers" to the Pyramid
6) Thirteen letters in "E PLURUBIS UNUM" (From many...one)
7) Thirteen letters in ANNUIT COEPTIS (Announcing the Birth of...OR... A Favorable Undertaking)
8) Thirteen stripes and thirteen stars on the Escutcheon (shield) the "Eagle" is "holding"

This was not by accident, as three of their founding fathers were Freemasons. That's right, Benjamin Franklin, John Hancock and George Washington were Freemasons, and thirteen members of the original Congress. Thirteen is a significant number to the Freemasons. For Further information on this influence in the USA see http://www.garone.net/tony/random.html.

Nice touch..............we were cruising around the web and spotted a great column/page on Arnie's site about stolen bikes................if you get a chance give it a visit by clicking on the flame below.

The world wide wibbly wobbly web has made the planet a smaller place, I have a mate called Bjorn who contacted us via our website and we keep occasional contact via the web. Without the www. I doubt if we would have known of each others existence or even considered meeting up yet now we receive pics of him and his mates machines having the once over during this winter and some stunning landscapes. Bjorn and I intend to share a bottle of whiskey or three one day and I for one am will look forward to that.......In the meantime here are some of Bjorn's pics.
